I want to apologize for being out of commission for so long. I was really unhappy with the blog host I was using so I am giving wordpress a chance to impress me- so far, so good.
So let’s get down to business.
Mascara is a beautiful thing. I know I probably wear too much- but I just love the over-the-top eye makeup look of 60s and 70s, when women would put their lashes on every single day. I would go nutzo if I did that – I had a mild panic attack while trying to apply them for a Halloween party a few weeks ago. Lesson learned- don’t do your own.
We are no longer in that beautiful era of “putting your face on.” Instead we are throwing makeup on at every red light as we make our drive to work. We want perfect products that do the job ASAP.
I’ve been on a journey for the perfect mascara my entire life, and was always left short-lashed. In the famous words of my favorite MTV’s Made episode, where Jackie wants to perform a snazzy number to the theme of Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights in the high school talent show—
“NOT ANYMOOORRE!”
The two best mascaras in the world are:

L’Oreal Voluminous and CHANEL Inimitable Mascara
ah! I was going to bet on dior show!
it is good. personally, i feel like it’s a bit flaky but does give a great look. if you love it- stick with it.
i was unsure where to ask this..
(big breath..)
my worst nightmare = creasing eyeliner&shadows.
i (90% of the time) use a black channel pencil to line my lids..i can put it under or over my shadow(s) and everything creases! i don’t use a bold/thick/heavy line, i can put a compressed powder over as a ‘finish’, use a smudge/smear tool to lighten or give the ‘smoke’ effect to the liner but i still crease.
cover girl shadows are the ones i like best and i use a brush to apply them so the color isn’t so overpowering and thick..
do you have any advice or help? i’ve tried multiple eyeliner brands/colors and shadows as well..and different techniques but..is there something magical out there in the world that can help from getting the icky nasty creasing effect? it’s quite unattractive =(
thanks in advance and i apologize as well..i wasn’t sure where to ask/post about this issue.

hey mrs. david!
no need to apologize! i love getting comments and answering questions– you asked in the right place! thank you.
a lot of us get kind of oily on our lids. i always suggest an eye shadow base for everyone. not only does it mattify your lids, a shadow base will hold your shadow on through the day. that base may grab onto your eye liner and keep it in place longer. almost every major line carries their own eye shadow base- but the urban decay one has won the most awards.
as for eye liner- you really should look into getting a waterproof eye liner. i usually judge staying power by how long it wears under my eyes. my favorite eyeliner in the world is urban decay’s 24-7 waterproof eyeliner. it glides on like butter and stays on all day. i’ve taken a shower with my makeup on, and the eyeliner was still hanging out when i got out.
but since you like a thin line– i would suggest you try the chanel waterproof liner. it stays on really well. it will create a thinner line for you–plus there is a secret sharpener in the base. good luck!
hey thanks! i am going to look into urban decay tonight..i felt real dumb after i read what i put….shame on me for spelling chanel wrong =( how embarassing…lol
i just wish i could afford a real chanel purse =(
I am trying to find a mascara that does not leave black around my eyes by the end of the day. The only kind I have used that does that is Maybeline Full N Soft waterproof mascara, but I tried it again and it did not do much to my eye lashes that made them stand out or look long and full…almost looks like I have nothing on…and when I reapply it just looks gunky. Although I like the more natural look rather than dramatic, I would like to find a mascara that does a lot for my eye lashes a long with staying on them throughout the day. I already have enough problems hiding the dark circles under my eyes, smudging mascara does not help.
do me a favor and try cover girl lash exact in the waterproof formula. i used it once and was happy with the results. jamie uses it and you know she doesnt like that made-up look like i do. waterproof is harder to remove-but simple baby oil should do the trick.
hey quick question!
What do you reccommend for a daily face care regime? Also, what are some things you should do to take care of your face from time to time.
Also, what should you be doing to your face/ putting on your face before the make up goes on?
Thank you!! Have a really wonderful holiday!
i have heard that loreal voluminus gives you racoon eyes. when you use it do you get that problem?
